Since 12 years I come to Wyoming to visit my friends on a ranch in the Bighorns. And every year I stay at the IRMA hotel. It is one of the most authentic and historical hotels I know. I slept in both the Historical and standard rooms. The staff, the meals...everything is just great. I booked already for 2009. Greetings from BELGIUM.

My grandparents stayed in Irma Hotel July 14, 1920 when they were engaged and on their way from Casper to Yellowstone with my grandmother's mother along as chaperone. Here's what Bea wrote: "Got into Cody at 4:30 and got rooms at Hotel Irma. Owned by Mrs. W.F. Cody and named for the daughter of Buffalo Bill. The lobby and halls are filled with pictures of Buffalo Bill and his Indians. The fireplace is made of fossil stones and is wonderfully interesting. After dinner we walked about some and had some ice cream. Then Mother went to bed. Fred and I danced in what was the bar of the hotel, now a soft drink parlor." (Prohibition was then in effect.) She says she & her mother had a "wonderful sleep" at the hotel. How I would love to see the hotel register for July 14, 1920! I would also love to visit and stay at this place. Someday soon!

I have stopped by the Irma several times when in the area. I grandmother, Bonnie Green, was a waitress and hostess at the Irma about 1921. My father (who is still living at 95) stayed with her in the hotel. It is a wonderful piece of our family history.

My wife and I have stayed at the Irma several times. We have stayed in the historical rooms and have really enjoyed ourselves. We always stayed there while going on fishing trips to Monster Lake south of Cody. Our favorite was the breakfast buffet and the bread pudding with whiskey sauce.
We enjoy the Irma very much. Please vist our website www.greatoutdoorblessings.com

Cody is one of my favorite places to visit and when I am there I always eat at the Irma. Now that I am in Baghdad I go to the Cody website and visit someplace where there are always great memories with family and friends. I will return to Cody soon I hope. Major Michael O'Neal
